Job Description

As a Project Manager at Fleetway, you will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of shipbuilding, repair, and refit projects. You’ll be responsible for managing all aspects of assigned projects—ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. This includes estimating, overseeing day-to-day activities, and maintaining project documentation. 

You’ll work closely with Fleetway’s Program Managers and Delivery teams to drive execution and ensure alignment between engineering intent and project outcomes. Projects may involve technical complexity in the marine domain, and you’ll be supported by technical leads and oversight to help navigate engineering requirements.

This role is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is comfortable managing technical projects from start to finish.

Project Execution

  • Lead and support cross-functional project teams by ensuring roles are clear, resources are in place, and team members are set up for success throughout the project lifecycle
  • Coordinate project activities to meet quality standards, timelines, and best practices through effective task management and progress tracking
  • Maintain strong stakeholder and customer relationships by providing timely updates, encouraging collaboration, and fostering trust and satisfaction
     

Project Planning

  • Define project scope, requirements, and deliverables to ensure shared understanding and alignment with stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain project plans, including work breakdown structures, schedules, and budgets, to guide execution and manage costs
  • Plan and coordinate resources, communications, and risk management activities to support effective delivery and proactive issue management
     

Monitoring and Control

  • Track progress against scope, schedule, and budget, identifying risks and variances early and taking appropriate action
  • Manage changes, risks, and issues by assessing impacts and implementing mitigation strategies in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Ensure ongoing quality control and transparent reporting through regular reviews, status updates, and stakeholder communications

Education

  • A technical diploma or degree in engineering, engineering technology, business administration, or logistics management
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.
     

Requirements

  • 5+ years of project management experience (within the past eight years), including experience leading large-scale, multi-disciplinary projects to successful completion.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with technical teams and translate engineering requirements into actionable plans.
