Job Description

Nevada State University invites applications for the position of Senior Director of the North Las Vegas Campus. The Senior Campus Director will report directly to the Provost & Vice President of Academic Affairs and work closely with institutional constituents to provide strategic and operational leadership for our first satellite facility, a purpose-built 30,000-square-foot academic center located in North Las Vegas (NLV). This state-of-the-art campus will open in August 2027 with the goal of increasing educational opportunities and attainment for a vibrant community of current and prospective students who exemplify our institutional mission. This position will be expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to student success and broad access to higher education while employing a student-centered approach, a collaborative leadership style, and the ability to reliably manage the operations of a growing and multifaceted facility.

About the institution:

Nevada State University, a four-year Minority Serving public institution with a statewide mission, is dedicated to excellence in teaching and learning and committed to the advancement of a diverse and largely underserved student population. Designated a Hispanic Serving (HSI) and Asian American Native American Pacific Islander Institution (AANAPI), Nevada State is a university where teaching and student support are valued above all else.

Nevada State University continues to grow as an institution of higher education. In Fall 2025, the enrollment surpassed 8,400, with 8,287 undergraduate students and 117 graduate students. A majority of our students are first generation, racial/ethnic minorities, parents, and/or returning students, of which 48% are Hispanic, 10% are Asian/Pacific Islander, 10% are Black/African American, and 22% are White.

We celebrate the storied backgrounds of our campus community. We operate with a shared commitment to represent and serve the diverse population of Nevada and to encourage the exchange of ideas that respects and honors the lived experiences of our students, staff, and faculty. We foster a culture of inclusive excellence so our members can live authentically, fully engage, and flourish. In order to strengthen the university and progress its mission, the university dedicates itself to intentional and ongoing reflection to meeting the evolving needs of Nevada State University, the surrounding communities, and the State of Nevada.

We seek applicants who are passionate about working with this promising student population and collaborating with faculty and staff across departments to make a lasting impact in developing our institution and our community.

We encourage you to highlight your background in fostering an inclusive campus culture and supporting the success of students who are historically underrepresented in higher education.

Primary Responsibilities

This position will oversee the daily operations of the North Las Vegas site and collaborate with institutional leaders to help us achieve our core goals of promoting student success, fostering enrollment growth, and maintaining financial sustainability. The Senior Director will manage a variety of critical onsite functions, including staff supervision and training, supporting on-campus faculty and staff, and providing student services in collaboration with relevant divisions on the main campus in Henderson.

To ensure that the NLV campus meets student and community needs, this position will engage with key constituents in the region, build partnerships with local schools, employers, and community organizations, and monitor enrollment trends to provide academic divisions with information about student demand and interest. Additionally, the Senior Director will manage the site’s operational budget, work with Campus Infrastructure and Information Technology Services regarding facility operations and maintenance, and act as a liaison to people and divisions at the main campus, facilitating open communication about goals and activities.

  • Student Services & Support: Work closely with Student Services and academic support divisions to provide virtual support to students at the NLV campus (such as support from admissions, tutoring centers, financial services and cashiering, advising, the registrar’s office, student wellness, and student life). Provide generalist one-stop shop support, either directly or through well-trained staff members.
  • Finance & Budget: Collaborate with the supervising authority at the main Nevada State University campus to develop and manage the operating budget of the NLV campus and provide information to support strategic initiative requests.
  • Community Engagement: Connect with community members and local organizations to promote awareness of the NLV campus and gather feedback about campus services and programs. Support Office of Admissions & Recruitment by providing constituents with information about our programs and services and/or directing them to a recruiter.
  • Intercampus Collaboration: Facilitate open communication with constituents from the main campus to maintain effective collaboration and improve outcomes, including relaying information about student support and programming needs/interests observed at the NLV campus.
  • Strategic Enrollment Support: Fulfill responsibilities and seek opportunities designed to support our strategic enrollment goals, including participating in recruitment activities and monitoring and reporting course enrollment trends each term.
  • Facilities & Maintenance: Coordinate facility maintenance, custodial services, and repair requests, ensuring issues are documented, communicated, and resolved in a timely manner to maintain a safe and welcoming environment. Act as liaison to Campus Infrastructure on the main Nevada State University campus and work with Information & Technology Services to ensure tech questions and on-site issues are addressed.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Fulfill other duties as assigned.
