Job Summary
This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position, which a schedule of Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm. No weekends required. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of direct Primary Care experience as an Advanced Practice Provider.Located in the vibrant Assembly Row district of Somerville, the practice offers a dynamic and convenient setting for both staff and patients. Enjoy easy access via the Orange Line, along with the added benefit of on-site parking for a seamless commute. Our practice focuses on caring for an adult patient population, allowing providers to deliver specialized, patient-centered care.
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a licensed provider. The NP is responsible for assessing and managing various patient populations, including those with medical and/or surgical conditions, as well as providing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, developing appropriate plans of care, and conducting ongoing evaluations. May also perform additional duties, such as precepting a small group of learners.
Essential Functions
-Provides direct care, counseling, and education to a designated patient population in ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural settings.
-Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
-Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
-Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.
-Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
-Consistently provides high-quality and timely documentation, including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes, and discharge summaries.
-Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population.

- Skilled in taking medical histories to assess medical condition and interpret findings.

- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
- Ability to communicate clearly and establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.
