Overview
As our GTC Commercial function continues to grow, we are seeking a Commercial Assistant to support our contract review and commercial management activities for engineering contracts across the Canada region. In this role, you will gain experience across a wide variety of commercial disciplines, including contract reviews, contract advice, cross-border delivery, governance, and claims management.
As the member of commercial team, you will work across various business portfolios ranging from Infrastructure to Nuclear, with opportunities to support major bids, projects, M&A, and broader business initiatives.
Your role
- Review client and supply chain contracts and facilitate governance support
- Collaborate with cross functional teams and the global teams
- Provide support across the contract review governance process, including operating the review tools and maintaining document management to ensure outputs are accurately captured, stored, and distributed to relevant stakeholders.
- Follow up with stakeholders to ensure review recommendations are actioned and manage document control by ensuring results are properly stored and distributed, with particular attention to escalating any red line items.
Note on Working Time
This role supports the Canada market and involves close collaboration with the Canada legal and commercial teams. Some overlap with Canadian business hours is expected during the week/month, and the successful candidate should be willing to flex their working day accordingly to align with the Canada team where required.
About you
- Degree qualified in Engineering, PG in Construction management/Project management and a degree or certification course in Law (Not mandatory-added advantage)
Mandatory Experience
Required experience in any two of the following areas with demonstrable evidence about their willingness to expand into the other areas:
- Commercial Governance
- Bidding (basic knowledge & experience in the win work cycle)
- Contract Management/Contract Administration
- Understanding of Engineering Contracts like FIDIC
Desirable Experience
In addition to the mandatory requirements, we are also seeking candidates with the following skills and experience:
- 2 to 4+ years of experience
- Experience in the Infrastructure/ Construction/ Heavy Industry Sector(s)/ Nuclear, Power and Energy sector
- Contract Administration
