Job Description
Position Summary
The Product Pooling Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily Pooling Department operations to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient production of pooled final product within a regulated laboratory environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Supervise daily pooling operations and ensure compliance with SOPs and Quality System requirements.
- Perform and demonstrate technical competency in all dilution and laboratory processes.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of batch records and production documentation.
- Maintain aseptic technique and sterility standards.
- Manage inventory and request chemicals, materials, lab supplies, and equipment as needed.
- Communicate operational issues and production updates to the Production Manager.
- Identify and recommend process improvements for cost, efficiency, and labor optimization.
- Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate departmental staff in partnership with HR.
- Plan staffing schedules, overtime, vacations, and production workflows.
- Maintain and update SOPs, training records, and safety documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a science-related discipline or Associate degree with relevant experience.
- Ability to perform algebraic calculations.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in ISO and/or FDA regulated environments preferred.
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Work is performed in a climate-controlled biological/chemical laboratory environment. The role requires standing, lifting up to 40 pounds, wearing PPE, and occasional exposure to cold storage environments.
Travel
Up to 5% domestic and occasional international travel.
