Position Description & Qualifications
We are expanding our Talent Acquisition team and seeking a highly strategic Executive Recruiter to lead full-cycle recruitment for senior-level and critical leadership roles. This is an opportunity to partner directly with executive leadership and shape the organization’s talent strategy while contributing to a collaborative and high-performing TA function.
Hybrid role requiring onsite presence in Herndon VA 3 days per week. Candidates must reside in the DC, Maryland, or Virginia area.
As an Executive Recruiter, you will own the end-to-end recruitment lifecycle for leadership, and hard-to-fill roles across Corporate and key business units. You will function as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, driving proactive talent strategies and delivering high-impact hiring outcomes.
In this role, you will provide:
- Executive Talent Strategy & Search Support
- Lead full-cycle executive searches for Director, VP, and mission-critical leadership roles within defense and federal programs
- Partner with senior leadership to define hiring strategies aligned to contract requirements, program growth, and recompete efforts
- Conduct talent mapping across government contractors, federal agencies, and military leadership pipelines
- Stakeholder & Leadership Partnership
- Serve as a strategic advisor to executives and hiring leaders
- Facilitate intake sessions, calibration discussions, and executive-level debriefs
- Provide market intelligence, compensation insights, and competitor talent trends
- Candidate Engagement & Assessment
- Conduct in-depth interviews focused on leadership competencies, cultural alignment, and organizational impact
- Deliver a high-touch, white-glove candidate experience for executive talent
- Manage and nurture relationships with passive candidates and long-term talent pipelines
- Offer Negotiation & Closing
- Lead complexes offer negotiations in partnership with HR and leadership
- Influence and guide decision-making to successfully close top-tier candidates
- Operational Excellence & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in the ATS (SuccessFactors or similar)
- Track and report on executive recruiting metrics, including time-to-fill, slate quality, and diversity outcomes
- Ensure an elevated level of discretion and professionalism throughout the search process
- Market Intelligence & Continuous Improvement
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitor hiring activity, and executive talent movements
- Contribute to the evolution of executive recruiting best practices within the organization
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A United States Citizenship
- A bachelor’s degree Or a High School Diploma and 4 years of additional years of experience
- 7 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with a focus on executive or senior-level hiring
- Strong understanding of federal hiring compliance and contract-driven recruiting environments
- Ability to influence and partner effectively with senior executives and program
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience using an ATS (e.g., SuccessFactors or similar systems) leadership
- Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate closely with senior leaders (VPs, C-suite)
- Advise on talent market conditions, compensation, and hiring strategy
- Calibrate expectations and align multiple decision-makers
- Executive search & sourcing
- Identify and engage passive candidates (not actively applying)
- Conduct market mapping and competitor analysis
- Use tools like LinkedIn Recruiter and internal networks
- Build pipelines for niche or leadership talent
- 7 years of combined experience in the following Talent Acquisition areas:
- ATS/Recruiting systems and HRIS databases
- Full lifecycle recruiting; (Candidate attraction, Sourcing, candidate screening, networking, assessing, as well as recruiting, pre-employment, and regulatory compliance)
- Federal and/or State & Local government, contracting experience
- Strong offer negotiation
- Lead compensation discussions (salary, equity, incentives)
- Navigate counter offers and complex negotiations
- Ensure smooth onboarding for senior hires
- Proven creative ability in developing and implementing effective sourcing strategies, including online engagement, social media strategies, networking and more
- Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Suite
- The ability to adapt quickly to change
- 10% travel required

Salary range: The range for this position can be found at the top of this posting. This range is provided as a general guideline and represents a good faith estimate across all experience levels.
