Job Purpose:
The Construction Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all construction activities for the ROO_EPCM project in Iraq. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that construction activities are executed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements. The Construction Manager will play a critical role in driving the successful completion of the project within the established timelines and budget, while upholding the highest standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities:
Construction Management:
- Lead and manage the construction team to ensure project objectives are met on time and within budget
- Review and approve construction plans, drawings, and specifications for accuracy and compliance with project requirements
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and other project teams to address design changes and scope modifications during construction
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress, quality of work, and adherence to safety standards
- Manage construction documentation, including permits, licenses, and contractor agreements
- Prepare and present progress reports to project management and stakeholders
- Participate in project meetings and coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other project teams
- Ensure construction activities are completed within budget and schedule constraints
- Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and address potential hazards
- Ensure that all construction activities comply with HSE regulations and best practices
- Investigate and report any accidents or incidents on the construction site
- Provide HSE training to construction staff and contractors to promote a safety culture
- Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures
Quality Management:
- Establish and maintain quality control processes to ensure construction work meets project specifications and standards
- Conduct quality inspections and audits to verify workmanship and compliance with quality requirements
- Implement corrective actions to address any quality issues or non-conformities
- Monitor and track quality metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to address quality concerns and implement quality improvement initiatives
- Implement quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with project requirements
Functional Areas:
- Manage construction-related budgets, cost control measures, and financial reporting
- Oversee procurement activities related to construction materials, equipment, and services
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services
- Develop and maintain project schedules and timelines
- Conduct risk assessments and develop risk mitigation strategies
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and permits
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- Proven experience as a Construction Manager on FEED projects and onshore brownfield projects in the Middle East
- Strong understanding of construction management principles, practices, and techniques
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of relevant construction codes, standards, and regulations in the Middle East region
- Proficiency in project management software and tools
