First Shift Supervisor
1st shift - Monday - Thursday 6:00 AM to 4:15 PM
(with opportunities for overtime, Friday and Saturday )
Reports To: Plant Manager
General Summary
Responsible for the supervision of the machine operators and daily operations in their department. Train new employees and perform various light repairs.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Must have experience in the operation of various machines, such as CNC's, Coin Presses and Dial's.
- Ability to manage a team and prioritize tasks effectively
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Previous experience as shift supervisor
- Strong leadership and communication skills
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Train and assist operators in meeting production standards.
- Assign duties to operators based on Production Priority List.
- Operate various machines, such as CNC's, Coin Presses and Dial's.
- At the end of the shift, collect production sheets and turn them into the office.
- Automation – robots and ability to work through select alarms.
- Train existing employees on new machines, new product and new procedures.
- At the beginning of each shift, review inventory of all tooling on the board for use by the afternoon shift.
- Make sure that there is adequate tooling to run the afternoon shift
- Record starting inventory.
- Monitor tooling and any abnormal tool wear throughout the shift.
Working Conditions:
Industrial plant setting; continuous exposure to noise. Safety protection required. (safety shoes, ear protection and safety glasses.) Must strive for continuous improvement. Overtime required.
