About this opportunity:
We are looking for a LabIT Developer / Engineer to join our team in supporting and evolving our internal lab environments and infrastructure platforms. This role focuses on Linux-based systems, ensuring stable, scalable, and automated environments for development and testing activities.
You will work closely with engineers and stakeholders across multiple domains, contributing to system design, integration, and continuous improvement of our lab platforms.
While Linux expertise is at the core, the role also requires basic understanding of networking, hands-on hardware awareness, and experience in lifecycle management (LCM) of both hardware and software. Exposure to cloud technologies (OpenStack, Kubernetes) and automation practices is highly valuable.
This is a hands-on role where pragmatic problem solving, operational ownership, and continuous improvement are key. Ericsson provides a dynamic environment where you can grow your technical capabilities while directly influencing how our engineering environments operate.
What you will do:
- Design, build, and maintain Linux-based lab environments supporting development and testing activities
- Manage and support hardware and software lifecycle (LCM), including upgrades, replacements, and decommissioning
- Work with physical lab infrastructure, including servers, storage, and connectivity components
- Contribute to system integration, verification, and troubleshooting of infrastructure components
- Support cloud and virtualization environments (e.g., OpenStack, Kubernetes)
- Work with network configurations and connectivity aspects within lab setups
- Develop and maintain automation scripts to improve efficiency and consistency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements and implement solutions
- Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing within the team
- Continuously identify and implement improvements in stability, scalability, and automation
The skills you bring:
- Strong experience with Linux system administration (core requirement)
- Basic understanding of hardware components (servers, storage, rack environments, etc.)
- Experience with lifecycle management (LCM) of hardware and software
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, switching, etc.)
- Experience or exposure to cloud / virtualization platforms, such as:
- OpenStack
- Kubernetes
- Or one of the following: Google GCP, AWS Public Cloud, Azure Public Cloud.
- Basic knowledge of automation and scripting, such as:
- Bash
- Python
- Experience with troubleshooting complex systems across hardware and software layers
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and automation
- Ability to work in an international, cross-functional environment
Nice to have:
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines or infrastructure as code
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools
- Experience in lab or test environments in telecom or large-scale infrastructure
