Job Description:

The Continuous Improvement Intern will support the El Carmen Manufacturing Facility in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality. This role offers hands-on experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibilities:**
* Assist in mapping current state processes and identifying areas for improvement within manufacturing operations.
* Collect and analyze data to quantify process inefficiencies and potential gains from proposed improvements.
* Support the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
* Participate in cross-functional teams to identify root causes of problems and develop effective solutions.
* Help track and report on the progress and impact of continuous improvement projects.
* Contribute to creating and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) based on improved processes.
* Support training efforts related to new or updated processes and continuous improvement methodologies.
* Conduct time studies and work sampling to optimize production flows.
* Assist with documentation and presentation of project findings to stakeholders.

Required Skills and Education


* Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or a related technical field.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
* Basic understanding of lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen) is a plus.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Eagerness to learn and apply continuous improvement methodologies in a manufacturing setting.
