Summary:

The Principal Consultant will be responsible for strategic direction, resource allocation, client profitability and leadership and retention of a specified group of clients. independently lead client relationships at all levels of the client organization. The Principal Consultant also actively participates in the company’s overall leadership team including client engagement, teammate leadership and business development elements of the business.

Essential Duties and Functions:

  • Drives business results through retention and growth of existing client relationships.

  • Maintains strategic relationships with clients, understanding clients’ key business challenges and provides thought leadership and intellectual capital for clients.

  • Provides strong leadership with client teams. Leads client consulting teams to deliver on strategic objectives tied to clients’ needs.

  • Manages client relationships. Works closely with and builds deeper relationships with senior level client contacts and defines the decision-making process within the client organization.

  • Develop and own all business strategies, relationship strategies, renewals, RFPs and other projects for assigned clients

  • Provides executive level support in the development and management of vendor partner relationships and participates in corresponding activities.

  • Manages and executes projects and other client deliverables. Independently leads complex project and client assignments. Serves as a senior level consultant to our clients, understanding each client’s own business and departmental goals; builds business strategy around their goals.

  • Demonstrates deep understanding of technical aspects of financial analyses and translates results into appropriate strategic plans for clients.

  • Provides guidance and mentorship to consultants and analysts. Delegates work appropriately, enabling teammates to grow in their careers

  • Ability to create prospect leads and drive revenue generation; includes new revenue channels and expanded revenue with existing clients.

  • Serves as a formal or informal mentor and advisor for teammates.

  • Accountability for all client work to be accurate and peer reviewed 100% of the time.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Minimum of 10 years of employee benefits consulting experience, with at least 3-5 years of people leadership experience.

  • Excellent leadership skills, with experience leading teammates and client engagements.

  • Strong client relationship and revenue generation skills. Expert knowledge of employee benefits in the large employer market.

  • Must be detail-oriented, have highly developed organizational skills including the ability to prioritize, manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, and coordinate various internal/external partner deliverables while managing strict deadline and turnaround time requirements.

  • Demonstrated expertise in analytical and financial analysis, with a proven capability to break down intricate concepts into clear and accessible information.

  • Proficient with MS Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

  • Life and Health license in good standing, required within 90 days of hire

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

Compensation Range: $250,000 - $375,000 plus bonus

The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.

Pay Range

$250,00 - $375,000 Annual

The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
