Building Operations Clerk (Senior)

The Department of Chemistry is seeking a dependable and service-oriented professional to support the daily operations of several academic and research facilities. This position plays an important role in maintaining building functionality, supporting occupants, and helping ensure a safe and efficient environment for faculty, staff, students, and visitors.
What You'll Do
Working with limited supervision, you will independently support departmental operations across multiple buildings by:
- Managing building key records and coordinating security access.
- Maintaining card swipe access and security permissions.
- Tracking inventory, equipment, and surplus materials.
- Submitting and monitoring maintenance work orders and facility service requests.
- Serving as a point of contact for building occupants, vendors, maintenance personnel, and security staff to help resolve operational issues.
- Assisting with building-related projects, equipment moves, and facility support activities.
- Supporting emergency response and building safety initiatives when needed.
- Performing light maintenance tasks and helping coordinate repairs and improvements.
- Providing responsive customer service to faculty, staff, students, and visitors.
