We are presently accepting applications for the following position.
SECURITY AIDE (PART-TIME)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent, required
- Ability to accurately write and complete reports
- Experience and training in crisis intervention, emergency medical procedures, or related fields, preferred
- Experience in school setting, preferred
- Knowledge of security measures, fire prevention and crowd control
- Ability to maintain order and to work with groups and individuals on matters of security and crisis management
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and the community
- Ability to use technology efficiently such as a computer, two-way radio, access control systems, and other devices as deemed necessary
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time including stairs
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Patrols the facilities during and after school to ensure that all occupants are engaged in appropriate activities.
- Coordinates with building Greeting Attendant to protect against illegal entry, acts of violence, vandalism, drug activity, arson, theft, etc. and checks identification of students, staff and visitors.
- Inspects windows, doors, and other points of entry to ensure they are secure.
- Approaches facility occupants who may be involved in inappropriate activities in a non-confrontational manner and ensures that they move in or out of the building without incident.
- Demonstrates urgency should an incident of magnitude occur and contacts police, fire department or other appropriate authority in a timely manner if their assistance and/or immediate attention is required.
- Participates in the District's emergency and crisis management plan as assigned.
- Patrols school property such as restrooms, stairwells and other areas where students gather when not in class.
- Models courteous, respectful and professional behavior when interacting with all members of the school community.
Hourly Rate: $18.50/hr
Hours: 29.5 Hours/Maximum Per Week
Shift Times: Flexible schedule shifts (starting at 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; 4:00 - 8:00 p.m.
This is a part-time position without benefits.
