Location: Kirtland AFB, NM, 87417
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Acquisition Strategy & Documentation Principal to join our team at Kirtland AFB, NM. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Department of Defense (DoD) Acquisition Air Force (AAF) programs, with expertise in program planning, ACAT III program management, and the development of Request for Proposal (RFP) documents. This role is critical in shaping acquisition strategies and ensuring comprehensive documentation to support successful program execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement acquisition strategies aligned with DoD and Air Force acquisition policies and regulations.
- Lead the preparation and review of acquisition documentation, including RFPs, acquisition plans, and related program documentation.
- Support program planning activities for ACAT III programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including contracting, legal, engineering, and program management to ensure alignment and clarity in acquisition documentation.
- Provide expert guidance on acquisition strategy formulation and documentation to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Monitor and assess acquisition program progress, identifying risks and recommending mitigation strategies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of DoD acquisition policies, directives, and Air Force-specific acquisition frameworks.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Acquisition Strategy & Documentation Principal or similar role within DoD Air Force Acquisition Framework (AAF).
- In-depth knowledge of ACAT III program requirements and management processes.
- Strong expertise in developing and managing RFP documents and acquisition plans.
- Excellent program planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate complex acquisition strategies clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with DoD acquisition regulations, policies, and best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Program Management, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in DoD acquisition, with specific experience in Air Force acquisition programs.
- Demonstrated experience managing ACAT III programs and preparing acquisition documentation.
Security Clearance
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required.
