Job Description
The Control & Instrumentation Engineering team works collaboratively with customers and multi-disciplinary engineering teams to support complex engineering assets and facilities. The role is responsible for providing technical leadership on control and instrumentation systems, supporting asset lifecycle management, developing modifications and upgrades, and ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise for control and instrumentation systems.
- Develop, review and approve C&I designs, calculations, specifications and technical documentation.
- Support maintenance, fault investigations, obsolescence management and plant modifications.
- Engage directly with customers, project teams and regulators to ensure engineering solutions meet requirements.
- Lead design reviews, hazard studies and engineering substantiation activities.
- Support installation, commissioning, testing and operational readiness activities.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering capability development.
Work Experience
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Control & Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline.
- C&I engineering experience within a highly regulated industry.
- Strong knowledge of industrial control systems, PLCs, SCADA, instrumentation and functional safety.
- Experience producing and reviewing engineering calculations, specifications and design documentation.
- Experience supporting design, modification and asset lifecycle activities.
Desirable Attributes:
- Understanding of safety-critical environments and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience with IEC 61508/61511 functional safety standards.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience working in defence, energy, infrastructure or process industries.
