Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Asbestos Abatement Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for performing asbestos containment, removal, demolition support, cleaning, and disposal activities in residential, commercial, and industrial environments while maintaining strict compliance with federal, state, and company safety standards.


The ideal candidate has experience in demolition, environmental remediation, construction cleaning, and regulated material handling, with a strong commitment to workplace safety, professionalism, and attention to detail.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform asbestos abatement activities including containment setup, removal, encapsulation, and disposal of asbestos-containing materials (ACM)
  • Construct and maintain critical barriers, containment systems, negative air environments, and decontamination chambers
  • Safely remove drywall, flooring, insulation, ceiling materials, pipe wrap, and other regulated materials
  • Conduct demolition and site preparation work in accordance with project scope and safety protocols
  • Perform detailed HEPA vacuuming, wet cleaning, and final cleaning procedures
  • Properly bag, label, transport, and dispose of regulated asbestos waste
  • Operate and maintain abatement equipment including HEPA vacuums, negative air machines, air scrubbers, sprayers, and hand/power tools
  • Wear and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE) including respirators and protective suits
  • Follow OSHA, EPA, AHERA, and state/local asbestos regulations at all times
  • Complete daily documentation, safety checklists, and project reporting accurately
  • Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites
  • Assist with emergency response, restoration, demolition, or environmental remediation work as needed
  • Communicate professionally with supervisors, team members, inspectors, and clients


Required Qualifications

  • Current AHERA Asbestos Worker Certification (or ability to obtain prior to employment)
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Experience in asbestos abatement, demolition, environmental remediation, construction labor, or restoration work preferred
  • Experience with cleaning procedures in regulated or construction environments
  • Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds regularly
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, elevated areas, and physically demanding environments
  • Ability to wear a respirator and pass respiratory fit testing/medical evaluation
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety practices and PPE requirements
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
  • Ability to travel locally to job sites as required


Preferred Certifications

  • AHERA Supervisor Certification
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Construction Certification
  • HAZWOPER 40-Hour Certification
  • First Aid/CPR Certification
  • Lead Renovator or Lead Abatement Certification
  • Experience operating negative air machines and environmental monitoring equipment


Physical Requirements

  • Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing 50+ pounds
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work for extended periods
  • Ability to work in PPE and respirators for long durations
  • Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor environmental conditions
