POSITION OVERVIEW
Ascend Performance Materials is seeking a highly motivated Operations Coordinator with accountability for the assigned area. This position will validate and follow all maintenance work requests (Notifications) while coordinating maintenance work between the Work Requester, the Maintenance Planner and the Maintenance Scheduler. This position will also have responsibilities for preventative maintenance and to ensure issues are resolved quickly.

- Drive unit performance through maintaining safe, reliable, and productive equipment utilizing the maintenance and reliability work processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review maintenance work requests (Notifications) from SAP, web-based entry, and IntelaTrac with the Work Requester and Supervision (Operations and Maintenance) of the affected area to validate the request, determine priority, ensure completeness of data entry, and get approval for maintenance cost to begin.
- Responsible for reducing "No Problem Found" work orders by closely examining requests.
- Ensure that "Quick Fix" requests are processed and documented without progressing to work order creation.
- Determine when Preventive Maintenance or Project Ideas are needed and submit the appropriate request.
- Put validated Notifications “In Process” within SAP and assign the proper priority.
- Ensure that any Outstanding and Postponed notifications are reviewed and either closed (no problem found or will not do work with feedback to requester) or advanced to “In Process” for valid work requests.
- If work is Urgent (Emergency, Begin Now – P1 or Urgent – Within 72 Hrs. – P2), advance to the Gatekeeper to break the weekly / daily schedule.
- Assist the Maintenance Planner and/or Scheduler in performing detailed field inspections for job scope clarification, as needed.
- Follow the maintenance activity through completion of the job.
- Provide feedback to the work Requester regarding approval/rejection of the request, status of the Notification, when the work is scheduled, and job completion.
- Participate in Daily and Weekly Scheduling meetings to ensure that notifications are defined and understood.
- Build maintenance schedule for the area.
- Approval of invoices for outside services.
- Assist with coordinating minor maintenance activities and ensuring proper parts are available.
- Assist with coordination of area productivity improvement opportunities such as A2E efforts and Lean Manufacturing opportunities.
- Work with RBM and Engineering groups to improve equipment reliability and performance. Assist in optimization of PM schedules.
- Follow outages and work with Outage Coordinator to ensure safe, effective, and cost-efficient turnarounds.
- Develop area documentation including procedures, ECP’s and training material for operations.
- Coordinate outages necessary for compliance and regulatory requirements (interlocks, PSVs, vessel inspections, etc.)

- Area Front Line Leaders, Engineers, Productions Specialists and Area Processors
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Experience working in assigned area operations as a grade H4 or higher.
- Must have a strong mechanical aptitude and ability to lead mechanical troubleshooting efforts.
- Knowledge of Maintenance/Production integration. Coordinator must communicate from Production to Maintenance when Maintenance work is to be done. Production is responsible for initiating a change in the maintenance schedule. Coordinator must communicate these.

REQUIRED SKILLS
- Communication skills required include facilitating meetings, coordinating among multiple areas to optimize resource effectiveness, documenting actions, and follow up, and coordinating MOC completion.
- Ability to perform SAP functions: Create Notification, Display, Change, Delete functions; Work Order, Display, and Schedule
- Display function within the Plant Maintenance module and initiate purchase requisitions.
- Must be able to use Microsoft Excel for maintenance work process functions (schedules, backlog reviews, continuous maintenance process improvement, etc.)
