Job Description

This role provides system-level leadership for nursing research, evidence-based practice, and innovation to improve patient outcomes, care delivery, and workforce effectiveness. This role advances the integration of scientific inquiry into clinical practice, partners with interdisciplinary teams, and drives the translation of research into measurable improvements across the health system.

Education

  • Required - Masters Degree in Nursing
  • Preferred - Doctoral Degree in Nursing


Work Experience

  • Required - 5 years Clinical Nursing
  • Preferred - 3 years Research or Quality Improvement


Certifications

  • Required - RN License Upon Hire
  • Preferred - Advanced certification - (NEA-BC) or (NPD-BC) Upon Hire


Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Ability to critically appraise literature and translate findings into practice
  • Ability to align scientific work with business, quality, and clinical priorities
  • Strong collaboration and influence skills across interdisciplinary teams
  • Ability to lead without direct authority
  • Ability to manage and execute multiple initiatives simultaneously


Job Duties

  • Collaborates with clinical and operational leaders to identify research opportunities.
  • Translates research finds into clinical protocols, guidelines, and practice changes.
  • Uses clinical and operational data to evaluate outcomes, trends, and improvement opportunities.
  • Mentors nurses, educators, and leaders in scientific inquiry and project execution.
  • Partners with nursing leadership, physicians, quality, and academic institutions to advance practice setting
  • Established metrics to measure impact of research and EBP initiatives.
  • Leads EBP initiatives to standardize and improve care delivery.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards
