General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) designs and manufactures first-of-a-kind electromagnetic and electric power generation systems. GA-EMS’ expanding portfolio of specialized products and integrated system solutions supports critical fleet, space systems and satellites, missile defense, power and energy, and process and monitoring applications for defense, industrial, and commercial customers worldwide.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a CAD Administrator to support our engineering team in the Electromagnetic Systems (EMS) Group located in Rancho Bernardo, CA.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a CAD Administrator to support our engineering team in the Electromagnetic Systems (EMS) Group located in Rancho Bernardo, CA.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The CAD Administrator serves as the primary technical administrator for Configuration and Data Management and the Engineering department, supporting complex engineering tools including CAD, modeling, PLM, and related applications.
- Administer Windchill PLM and integrated tools (CREO, SolidWorks, Workgroup Manager)
- Manage Windchill PLM’s core data management and workflow capabilities throughout the product lifecycle
- Proactively monitor the health of engineering software applications and address issues quickly and thoroughly
- Plan for future system needs and improvements
- Manage user accounts, privileges, and access controls
- Set up and maintain projects
- Create custom reports and queries
- Implement and update process workflows for program-specific requirements
- Manage security rules and ensure ITAR, FSO, and IT compliance
- Monitor tool performance and manage maintenance renewals
- Manage database data items, properties, and uniform datasets across all programs
- Create and maintain data backups
- Provide technical support to engineering staff
- Troubleshoot tool problems and answer user questions
- Develop and deliver training sessions on tool usage and engineering policies
- Work with application vendors and IT to resolve support tickets
- Plan, coordinate, and perform software updates for engineering applications
- Support IT with client installations and troubleshooting
- Work with tool suppliers to resolve issues and plan updates
- Manage maintenance renewals
- Familiarity with CREO, SolidWorks, and ECAD applications
- Knowledge of enterprise software architectures and large-scale application installation and maintenance
- Experience with databases and database administration
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently with minimal direction
- Familiarity with web software (Java, PHP, Perl)
- Experience writing and editing HTML web pages
