Job purpose:
The Director Finance & CFO is responsible for leading the Finance function in-country, ensuring strong financial stewardship, governance, and strategic business partnering with GM and LT in setting the strategic direction. The role drives financial performance, safeguards compliance, and enables informed decision-making to deliver business growth, drive standardization, resourcing analysis, pricing and performance management and talent development aligned with GSK’s strategic priorities.
The role also operates as a fiduciary leader for the organization being the CFO of a listed entity and a key member of the Board, ensuring that all financial activities are conducted in line with regulatory, ethical, and internal governance standards.
Key responsibilities
Key responsibilities include the management of financial reporting processes, provide finance partnering support to Pakistan and drive value enhancing projects operating within the complexities and challenges of the market.
- Ensure efficient resource allocation through clear, bold investment decisions
- Partner effectively across the enterprise to support successful new launches, from business case development through execution and uptake
- Drive enterprise risk management, scenario planning and business continuity to safeguard sustainable business performance.
- Lead strategic portfolio, investment and capital allocation decisions to maximize growth, profitability and return on investment.
- Champion finance transformation, simplification and data-driven decision making to enhance business agility and efficiency.
- Ensure effective cash flow, liquidity and capital management while optimizing working capital performance
- Drive productivity, cost optimization and value creation initiatives to support sustainable double-digit growth.
- Statutory responsibilities being part of the Board of Directors and entity leader which includes Commercial, three manufacturing sites and Hub office.
- Provide finance partnering support to the Commercial teams in implementing commercial strategy across the market (ROI, pricing, tenders, working capital management etc).
- Management of the Plan/ Update for working with the Planning Hub and Market Finance teams aligning assumptions and risks and opportunities.
- Management of P&L identifying gaps to Plan and P&L impacts.
- Ensure full compliance with local statutory, tax and regulatory environment.
- Actively participate in key projects as required providing input for business case development and general financial and business expertise.
- Leadership in the design of financial processes to maximize quality, efficiency and effectiveness and oversee financial processes, audit and reporting/
- Build high-performing teams and strengthen finance capability, succession planning and leadership development.
- Lead engagement with auditors, regulators, banking partners and external stakeholders on key financial and governance matters.
Preferred Level of Education:
- Global Professional Accounting (CA, CPA, FCA, FCCA) and / or MBA with Finance
Previous Experience Required:
- Well-developed Finance Services experience, including internal controls and risk management. Financial Planning & Analysis, Finance partnering, Project management, Team management & Influence, impact and gravitas track record.
Soft skills:
- Significant skill-set needed to influence and co-ordinate at all levels of the organization as well as working together with other functions and business units
- Good communication is considered paramount in this role, whose fundamental requirement is to apply financial acumen to informing and influencing stakeholders to help make business decisions. Must demonstrate resilience and flexibility to effectively harness the highest standards of work from a diverse group including cross-functional teams
- The individual will be working with a wide range of stakeholders, Regional Leadership, other business functions including Global and Corporate. When managing operations, the manager will need to display professionalism in their vertical and horizontal activities. The effectiveness of this role depends on the professional maturity and capability to deliver through the organizational matrix.
- Very high level of problem solving capability and mindset, as a senior FD for a strategic market and with the very dynamic internal and external environment, Senior FD will be one of the key people who will be leading resolution of key problems
