Overall Purpose of the Position
The Financial Institutions Officer will be responsible for maintaining relationships with correspondent banks and other financial institutions.
Operational Responsibilities
- To assist as Bank’s point of contact with other financial institutions,
- To revert on the Due Diligence Questionnaire sent to the Bank and to run reverse KYC on third party Financial Institutions and liaise with the relevant Units,
- To assist in preparing the annual Third-Party Credit reviews,
- To assist other Bank’s units in resolving operational issues with other financial institutions or connect other financial institutions to the relevant units within the Bank,
- To ensure sufficient knowledge of banking regulations with particular emphasis on Anti Money Laundering rules,
- To prepare and maintain the documentation required to open accounts or agreements with institutions,
- To maintain suitable records of such meetings and interactions with other financial institutions ,
- To always ensure compliance with Bank’s policies, guidelines, and underlying procedures.
General Responsibilities
- To submit any reports and/or participate in any projects and activities as may be directed from time to time.
- To ensure compliance with Bank’s policies, guidelines, and underlying procedures at all times.
- To perform standard office tasks including processing mail, answering phone calls, ordering supplies, filing, and to ensure contact lists are always up to date.
- To perform any other duties that may be reasonably assigned from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills & Competencies
Mandatory
Skill
- Have good verbal and written communication skills in English. Competence in another foreign language is an asset
- Possess excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Be reliable, organised, highly meticulous and prepared to work under pressure.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Be prepared to travel and relate to people from different cultural backgrounds.
Experience
- Previous experience in banking, law, compliance or financial environment is preferred.
- Experience in client facing roles or Relationship Management would be an asset
Qualification
- Possess University degree or professional qualification in Banking, Finance, Accountancy Economics or Mathematics.
Desirable
Skill
- Be computer literate and conversant in MS Office applications, especially MS Excel.
- Committed to self-development.
Experience
- Have a flair for sales
- Some background in Financial Markets would be an asset..
