Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Engineering Coordinator position will provide direct support to the Director of Engineering in coordinating and overseeing the daily operations of the maintenance department, ensuring the proper functioning of the hotel’s facilities in line with Marriott brand standards.

Key Responsibilities
Supporting the Director of Engineering:

Operational Coordination

  • Assist in the organisation and coordination of the maintenance team’s daily activities, including both corrective and preventive maintenance.
  • Use available corporate platforms (GXP, BMS or others) to efficiently manage tasks and incidents.

Interdepartmental Communication

  • Act as the main point of contact between the Engineering department and other hotel departments (Housekeeping, Front Office, F&B, etc.).
  • Ensure smooth and effective communication regarding incidents, operational priorities, and follow-up of tasks.
  • Collaborate actively to minimise the impact of maintenance activities on the guest experience and on other departments’ operations.

Inventory and Purchasing Management

  • Monitor and keep the inventory of spare parts and critical materials up to date.
  • Manage purchase orders for materials and external services.
  • Follow up both administratively and operationally on orders and contracted work.

External Contractors Management

  • Receive, accompany and coordinate external contractors on site.
  • Supervise the proper execution of work carried out by suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety and timing standards.

Control and Reporting

  • Record consumption (energy, water, etc.) in Marriott platforms and internal systems.
  • Support the preparation of reports and technical documentation.
  • Carry out quality inspections on work performed by both internal teams and external contractors.

Administrative and Technical Support

  • Assist in managing tools, systems and maintenance platforms (BMS, Marriott tools, etc.).
  • Organise, file and maintain up-to-date technical and administrative documentation within the department.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in maintenance, engineering or a hotel environment (desirable).
  • Basic knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance management.
  • Good command of IT tools (Microsoft Office, management systems).
  • Experience with BMS systems and Marriott platforms will be an advantage.

Languages

  • Spanish: advanced level
  • English: upper-intermediate level
