Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of architectural designs and project plans across all phases of projects, ensuring coordination with consultants, agencies, and internal project teams.
- Prepare and oversee presentation materials, design documentation, and construction drawings while maintaining design intent and production quality standards.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary project efforts, including consultants, regulatory agencies, and technical teams, to ensure efficient and successful project delivery.
- Implement and support efficient design and production workflows established by Studio Principals, while identifying and developing process improvements.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and oversight to less experienced architectural and production staff to ensure project budgets, schedules, and quality expectations are achieved.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, fostering strong relationships and ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and with a high level of client satisfaction.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, overseeing both technical and administrative aspects to ensure cost-effective and efficient project execution.
- Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, work plans, documentation, communications, and team assignments throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare strategic project plans, define project scope and deliverables, and oversee the work of Project Architects and Architectural Staff.
- Assist in developing project fees, scopes of work, proposals, and contracts.
- Present design concepts, technical solutions, and project strategies directly to clients and stakeholders with confidence and professionalism.
- Participate in conceptual and schematic design efforts while providing leadership and support through all phases of project development and delivery.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in specialized building systems, technical design solutions, and project delivery methodologies.
- Develop and communicate technical design strategies in coordination with firm leadership to support project success and innovation.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of progressive experience across all phases of architecture and engineering, including significant involvement in project planning, design, and delivery. Professional licensure is preferred but not required. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program required.
- Must be willing to relocate to St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. Residency near a Novus office location is preferred.
- Ability and willingness to travel to other Novus office locations as needed for project and organizational requirements, generally on a quarterly basis.
- Strong proficiency in Revit, including design, production, and workflow processes, is required.
- Experience with K-12 educational projects is preferred.
- Experience working on FEMA-funded projects is a plus.
- Experience with additional federal government project types and/or related design and compliance processes is beneficial.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication abilities.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining high levels of productivity and quality.
- Self-motivated professional with a high level of initiative, accountability, and energy.
