Position Summary
Moraga Post Acute is seeking a reliable and experienced Dietary Cook to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality, nutritious meals that meet physician orders, dietary guidelines, and resident preferences. Your work will play an important role in enhancing resident satisfaction and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to established menus and dietary requirements
- Follow standardized recipes and portion control guidelines
- Ensure meals accommodate special diets (e.g., diabetic, low-sodium, texture-modified)
- Maintain proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices
- Monitor and record food temperatures to ensure safety compliance
- Assist with tray line and meal service as needed
- Keep kitchen and cooking areas clean, organized, and well-maintained
- Work collaboratively with dietary staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Support inventory management, ordering, and proper stock rotation
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous cooking experience in a healthcare or food service setting required
- Knowledge of dietary restrictions and food safety standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Food Handler’s Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
Schedule & Benefits
- Status: Full-Time (weekends and holidays may be required)
- Pay Rate: $19.00 per hour
