We are seeking a skilled and dependable Heavy Haul Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will have experience handling oversized and heavy loads, ensuring timely and secure deliveries across various locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy-duty trucks and specialized equipment to transport oversized and heavy loads safely and efficiently.
- Plan routes and obtain necessary permits for transporting oversized cargo.
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load, unload and secure loads properly using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, inspections, and compliance records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local transportation laws and safety regulations.
- Perform routine maintenance and report any mechanical issues to ensure vehicle reliability.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for heavy haul and oversized loads.
- Proven experience operating heavy haul trucks, transporting oversized cargo and loading/unloading heavy equipment (i.e. dozers, loaders, excavators, backhoes, etc)
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record.
- Ability to plan and execute complex routes efficiently.
- Good physical condition and ability to handle loading and unloading tasks.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to work long hours and travel as required.
