Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity
You will work within our Gisborne team to deliver a range of infrastructure drainage & reticulation works. Ideally, you will have an interest in the following type of capital works; construction of water, wastewater and stormwater reticulation upgrades, backflow prevention and testing to meet contract specification.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll be out in the trench, delivering essential infrastructure that keeps communities running.
Your day-to-day will include:
Construction of wastewater, stormwater and drainage assets
Installation of PVC, PE and concrete pipes, manholes, catchpits and chambers
Working across wastewater and stormwater projects
Reading and interpreting plans, drawings and specifications
Confined space work and live network tie-ins

If you take pride in quality workmanship and enjoy being part of a tight-knit crew who get the job done safely and to a high standard - we want to hear from you. We are also looking for someone who:
Holds a recognised drain laying qualification – Level 3 Drainlayer certification as a minimum, and be registered with the PGDB-Plumber, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Board
Is confident working hands-on - not just supervising
Communicates well and works effectively within a team
Has a strong safety and quality focus
Holds a Full Class 1 or 2 driver’s licence
Can plan ahead, think on their feet and respond to unexpected challenges
