Reports To: Director - Bilingual/ESL
EMPLOYMENT BEGINS: As soon as possible
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
• To evaluate and analyze incoming students who report a language other than English as being spoken by the student or at home to identify appropriate placement and services. The person will work closely with campus administrators and other staff members.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
• Bachelor's degree, with appropriate state certification in an academic field
• ESL endorsement or Bilingual Certification
• Special Knowledge/Skills:
• Strong written and verbal skills in English (Spanish preferred)
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Effective communication, public relation, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
• Successful classroom teaching experience
• MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Administration of Pre-LAS/LAS tests and analysis of test data
• Lead the EB identification processes and procedures
• Supervise and evaluate BEES staff members
• Recruit and hire custodians and seasonal testers
• Coordinate student language testing and parent interviews
• Train of bilingual/ESL staff and contract workers on language assessments administration
• Manage and approve payroll process
• Create a welcoming and informative environment for the community
• Analyze data to report progress and evaluate procedures
• Collect and review all data and enrollment records
• Organize and review initial LPAC procedures in accordance with Chapter 89
• Ensure placement of students in appropriate language programs
• Manage inventory of testing and office materials for the daily operations at the BEES
• Develop a plan to measure the language development progress of PK and Kinder students at the end of the school year
• Communicate and train campus personnel on EB paperwork and procedures and scheduling of student testing
• Supervise attendance records of personnel
• Perform other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supervise the BEES secretary, parent interviewers, and language testers

Physical demands/environmental factors:
• Intermittent walking, sitting, and standing
• Occasional warehouse visits to inventory merchandise and occasional lifting, moving of up to 20 lbs
• Travel within the district and state
• Prolonged and irregular hours
