POSITION SUMMARY

The Hosebed/Parts Assembler will position, fabricate, and assemble structural metal/aluminum products according to the workflow and production schedule. They will construct trays, shelves, hosebed fronts, hosebeds, tool boards, slides, assemble swivel dumps, tack expanded metal and extrusions, cut and bend coffin lids and more. The Metal fabricator will set up and operate fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, and drill presses. Also, they will position, align, fit, and weld together parts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

All employees are required to support Rosenbauer’s Mission, Vision, and Values. The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer. 

  1. Construct trays, shelves, hosebed fronts, hosebeds, tool boards, slides, assemble swivel dumps, tack expanded metal and extrusions, cut and bend coffin lids and more. 
  2. Sets up and operates fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, and drill presses.
  3. Positions, aligns, fits, and welds together parts.
  4. Designs and constructs templates and fixtures.
  5. Hammers, chips, and grinds workpiece to cut, bend, and straighten metal.
  6. Verifies conformance of workpiece to specifications.
  7. Follows all workplace rules and safety guidelines and demonstrates safe work practices.
  8. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by the supervisor to meet the needs of the company and our members.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA’S):

Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma/GED required. 
  • Welding diploma/certificate is preferred. 
  • Previous applicable fabrication, welding, and brake press experience.

Skills:

Language:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

Math:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Computer:

  • Ability to perform intermediate PC functions including spreadsheet formulas and functions, queries, tables, merges, and special reports.

A

Abilities:

  • Knowledge of basic inspection tools, machining skills or related fields.
  • Able to recognize the importance and adhere to all safety policies to promote a safe working environment. 
  • Able to read and work from blueprints/spec book.
  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools and tape measure.
