RECRUITMENT RANGE: $70,500-$92,000

Reporting to the Technical Training Manager, the primary responsibility of the Lead Technical Trainer is to deliver technical training and lead on-site oversight of technical training operations and facility upkeep at the Irvine Academy. The Lead Technical Trainer will monitor other trainers’ classroom deliveries for quality and be the line of communication to the JLR Technical Training Manager.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Support global curriculum development by reviewing new training content, recommending improvements, and ensuring programs are delivered effectively; attend T3 sessions, providing feedback, and train other trainers to roll out new courses, methods, and delivery channels.
  • Oversee training workshop operations by maintaining clean, safe and secure workshops and ensuring all vehicles are kept clean and in good condition; organize vehicles and equipment; manage routine fleet inspections; coordinate tool orders; ensure vehicles and keys are always secured and assess equipment repair needs with cost estimates.
  • Manage training quality by delivering technical courses to global accreditation standards, preparing and executing all training activities (Level 2–4 and EVSAP), collaborating with other Academy Lead Trainers to ensure consistent curriculum and delivery, audit other trainers’ performance, stay current with technical updates from the local technical support team, and communicate key information to ensure all trainers understand new content and requirements.
  • Serve as a global subject matter expert by delivering global projects, leading and supporting Technician of the Year competitions (including judging and execution), and advising on tooling needs and new training content development across emerging channels such as VR, virtual platforms, and simulationbased learning.

 


What you will need:

  • Automotive, Engineering Qualification or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in technical training delivery
  • ASE / JLR Certification - Automotive Master Technician / L4 Technician
  • Technician / Automotive technical experience
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present and teach using various technologies
  • Advanced in in Microsoft Office Excel and office

 

Schedule: This role is a fulltime, onsite position based at our Irvine, California Academy, Monday through Friday.

 

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized components, including location, skills, experience, and market factors. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus in addition to a full range of medical/health, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick/personal, and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position”.
