Position Summary: The Driver is responsible for the efficient and timely pick-up and delivery of donated items.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Picks up, unloads, and delivers donations.
  • Provides excellent customer service with donors.
  • Maintains cleanliness of van and ensures it is fueled, reporting any damage and maintenance needs to corps officer.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • During the Christmas Season (November & December), work increased hours (4-5 hrs daily) driving a Kettle Route.

Qualifications:

 

Education/Experience: 

  • High School diploma / GED, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Experience operating a motorized vehicle.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: 

  • Knowledge of roadways within the community and the location of various donation sites.

 

Certificates and Licenses: 

  • Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed
  • Must have and maintain a current valid chauffeur’s license with a chauffeur’s endorsement and pass The Salvation Army Motor Vehicle Record check (MVR) or gain the chauffeur’s endorsement within 30 days of hire.
