Description
Ty Ffynu is located in Abergavenny. We offer residential support for four males and females who have mental health needs and people with a learning disability. The house is off a main road, in a residential area, just a ten minute walk from Abergavenny town centre.

What you'll be doing
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will act as a positive role model, providing effective supervision and guidance to support staff, ensuring high-quality, person-centred care is delivered at all times.
You will play a key role in supervising day-to-day operations, coaching colleagues, leading team meetings, and ensuring the people who use our service are supported to live fulfilling, independent lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support the delivery of person-centred support and care
- Provide leadership during shifts, including handovers, role allocation, and effective communication.
- Ensure residents have person-centred plans in place and are supported to participate in meaningful activities.
- Deliver team supervisions and contribute to professional development.
- Administer medication safely and in line with procedures.
- Manage service users’ finances and contribute to budget management in accordance with policy.
- Complete and oversee accurate record-keeping, reporting, and compliance with legislation.
- Monitor and support team performance, addressing immediate operational issues as needed.
- Maintain up-to-date training and knowledge to ensure safe and effective practice.

- Previous experience as a Support Worker or Senior Support Worker is essential.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to supervise, coach, and motivate others

- Knowledge of care standards, policies, and safeguarding practices.
- Reliable, flexible, and proactive in problem-solving.
- A caring and respectful approach to supporting others.
- Ability to work flexibly and think innovatively.

- Commitment to upholding professional standards, policies, and procedures.
