Occupational Summary
Perform a variety of complex technical duties involved in conducting laboratory tests, experiments and determinations in support of Duke University research operations.
Work Performed
A Research Technician II position is available immediately in the Department of Ophthalmology at Duke Eye Center to study the role of autophagy in neurodegeneration in glaucoma.
The selected candidate will conduct research experiments under minimal supervision and in accordance with established laboratory and safety protocols. Responsibilities will include preparing research-related documents, performing data analysis, maintaining standard laboratory equipment and supplies, assisting with the development of new research procedures and techniques, and supporting ongoing animal studies.
Additional responsibilities include mouse genotyping, imaging, histological techniques, and other experimental approaches related to glaucoma and neurodegeneration research.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
Work generally requires a bachelor's degree in botany, biology, zoology, psychology or other directly related scientific field.

Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $19.06 to USD $28.85.
