    • He is expected to establish direct contact with Client and whenever necessary with other Bureau Veritas organization.
  1. Minimum Required Qualifications
    1. Specialty
  • CSWIP 3.1 or AWS CWI or equivalent certification - at least 5 years’ experience after certification. In specific cases, documented training or work experience in welding/NDE can be considered subjected to QA/SQE review and approval.
  • ASNT Level 2 in RT, MT, PT and UT - At least 3 years of practical experience. For RT, inspectors hall has film interpretation certificates from an independent body CSWIP or AWS and not from any level III certified individual.

  • 3 year Diploma or 4 year Bachelor Degree in mechanical engineering

    1. Technical knowledge
    • Strong knowledge of the International Codes & Standards such as ASME, API, ANSI, ASTM and BS.
    • Experience with welding & pipeline Inspection according to relevant Codes.
    • Application of Codes and standards, project specifications and procedures.
    1. Experience
  • Industry experience: For 3 year Diploma- More than 12 years industrial QA/QC experience in Pipeline/Welding & NDT; 4 year bachelor degree- More than 10 years industrial QA/QC experience in Pipeline/Welding & NDT.
  • Oil & Gas Experience: Minimum 8 years for Diploma & Minimum 6 years for Bachelor degree
  1. Responsibilities / Authorities
    1. Primary Functions
  • Understanding the requirements of Vendor / Manufacturer’s Quality System requirements.
  • Review and verification of Manufacturer / Vendor documents as per Purchase Orders, Material Specifications as per relevant codes and project specifications.
  • Carryout Material Receiving Inspection of all permanent Project Material by EPC Contractor.
  • Witness verify and endorse Procedure and Welders qualification.
  • Review and approval of Inspection & Test Plans.
  • Review and approval of material certificates.
  • Monitor, inspect and approve all welding including welding procedures and NDT works.
  • Monitor, review and approve all PWHT works.
  • Review of all radiographs/NDT reports.
  • Signing of weld / NDT log.
  • Inspection of Pressure vessels, Heat Exchangers, Pressurized piping and structural works during fabrication.
  • Witness Hydrostatic & Pneumatic testing.
  • Surface preparation, Painting & Insulation inspection.
  • Good understanding of Material control procedures and Material Preservation and storage procedures.
  • Familiar with International codes like ASME/ ANSI, API, AWS, BP, BS, ISO codes, ISO EN 1024 etc.
  • Raising Non-conformance reports and verifying Corrective & preventive actions on all project materials during receiving inspection.
  • Ability to prepare concise weekly and monthly inspection reports.
    1. Technical Expertise
  • Strong knowledge of the International Codes & Standards such as ASME, API, ANSI, ASTM and BS.
  • Experience with welding/pipeline Inspection according to relevant Codes.
  • Application of Codes and standards, project specifications and procedures.
  • Within his field of competency, the inspector is expected to conduct the activities stated in Primary functions.
  • Fully conversant with relevant inspection techniques and able to select the most appropriate inspection technique.
  • Able to verify and approve Non-conformities / corrective actions
  • Able to identify required Bureau Veritas interventions, based on a pre-defined Quality Plan and according to specified standards.
  • Able to review / appraise inspection procedures
    1. Business Requirements
  • Report to Team leader about day-to-day inspection, non-compliance /discrepancy to specification.

  • Maintains a high degree of expertise through permanent specialized training and knowledge management.
  • Ensure that inspection is carried out as per approved drawings / Inspection test plans.
