Job Description:

Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for an IM Finance Digital Lead to support the Innovative Medicine (IM) Finance Transformation program. The preferred location for this role is in India

At Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine, we are working to create a world without disease. Our focus is on transforming lives through earlier intervention, better treatments, and smarter approaches to prevention and cure. This is an opportunity to give to a passionate organization that brings together science, technology, and talent to improve health for patients around the world.

Innovative Medicine Finance Transformation (IMFT) is a global finance transformation program that will modernize end-to-end finance processes across the Innovative Medicine value chain. The program is designed to standardize processes and data across financial planning activities, including FX, PII, and Tax, while enabling stronger actuals and variance analysis across the relevant capabilities. IMFT will also enable more consistent reporting across Finance teams. By building a scalable digital backbone, IMFT will strengthen business agility and address critical system modernization needs for the future.

The ideal candidate combines deep technical fluency in modern data platforms, analytics, and AI with strong financial competence and a proven track record of building and inspiring hard-working teams in a captive/GCC environment.

This is a senior, high-impact leadership role responsible for shaping and scaling the Finance Data & Analytics (D&A) and AI capabilities for Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Finance on a global scale. Anchored in the India Global Capability Center, the role sits at the intersection of Finance transformation, data and analytics strategy, modern technology platforms, and talent leadership. The Director will be accountable for building a best-in-class Finance D&A capability that delivers trusted, governed, and AI-enabled insights to Finance leaders worldwide.

The role requires deep expertise in handling end-to-end Finance analytics products, owning technology strategy and platform decisions, and integrating Finance data solutions into the broader J&J enterprise data and technology ecosystem. This leader will evaluate and adopt industry-leading data, analytics, and AI technologies; translate Finance business priorities into scalable data products; and ensure solutions meet the highest standards of data quality, security, compliance, and auditability.

A critical dimension of the role is people and capability leadership. The Director will build, lead, and develop a high-performing captive team in India, establishing the Finance D&A organization as a recognized global center of excellence. This includes defining the talent strategy, enabling exposure to global Finance partners and initiatives, and ensuring continuous development aligned with external industry trends and internal transformation priorities.

Operating as a trusted partner to senior Finance, Technology, and Business leaders, the Director will co-own the Finance D&A agenda, balance critical initiatives with operational delivery, and drive measurable value through improved decision-making, efficiency, and insight generation. Success in this role will be reflected in a modern, standardized, and sustainable Finance analytics landscape that accelerates Finance outcomes across Innovative Medicine.

  • Drive clarity in talent development planning and represent the team in leadership forums related to talent and organizational development.
  • Lead an international, cross-regional team of Product Analysts through design, execution, and deployment.

  • Lead product onboarding with internal J&J technology team members.

Technology Strategy & Innovation

  • Know the latest on external market trends, emerging technologies, and industry benchmarks; bring outside-in perspective to shape the Finance D&A technology roadmap.
  • Partner with enterprise Technology, Data Engineering, and AI/ML teams to ensure Finance solutions leverage and influence the broader J&J technology ecosystem.

Solution Design, Build & Delivery

  • Lead end-to-end design, development, and delivery of best-in-class Data & Analytics solutions — from intake and requirements through, build, testing, deployment, and adoption.
  • Establish and run Agile delivery practices (Scrum/Kanban, sprint planning, backlog management, iterative releases) to design, develop, and build parallel capabilities at speed and scale.
  • Define and enforce engineering and analytics standards: reusable components, documentation, code quality, testing, and release management.
  • Drive measurable business outcomes — improved forecasting accuracy, faster close cycles, self-service insights, automation of manual reporting, and AI-enabled decision support for Finance leaders.
  • Ensure solutions remain aligned with all applicable regulatory and legal requirements (e.g., SOX, GxP where applicable, data privacy regulations such as GDPR/DPDP), and with J&J internal controls, records management, and information security policies.
  • Partner with Data Governance, Privacy, Legal, and Compliance teams to embed governance by design: data quality, master data alignment, access controls, auditability, and model governance for AI solutions.
  • Rationalize and simplify the data landscape — reducing redundancy, technical debt, and shadow reporting in favor of governed, certified data products.

Talent & Capability Building (GCC Leadership)

  • Lead, manage, and grow the Finance Data & Analytics team within the India Global Capability Center, establishing it as a recognized center of excellence.
  • Define and implement the talent strategy: workforce planning, hiring, role architecture, career pathing, succession planning, and retention of top data, analytics, and AI talent.
  • Provide team members with significant exposure to global capabilities — global projects, cross-regional rotations, direct engagement with worldwide Finance and business leaders.
  • Ensure structured exposure to external Data, Analytics, and AI capabilities — industry forums, certifications, partnerships with technology providers and academia, and external benchmarking.
  • Develop a culture of innovation, continuous learning, psychological safety, and accountability consistent with the J&J Credo.

Business Partnership & Collaborator Leadership

  • Shape and co-lead the Data & Analytics agenda with Finance and business leadership across multiple, concurrent priorities — balancing critical initiatives with operational demands.
  • Build trusted relationships with internal collaborators (Finance leadership, FP&A, Controllership, Supply Chain Finance, Commercial Finance, Technology) and external collaborators (technology vendors, consulting partners, industry peers).
  • Translate business problems into data and AI solution roadmaps; communicate complex technical concepts clearly to senior non-technical audiences.
  • Define and report on value realization — benchmarks, goals and achievements, and benefits supervising for the D&A portfolio.

Other Duties

  • Represent the Finance technology team in program-related forums, including Deployment, Change Management, Compliance, Methodology, and Testing.
  • Create opportunities to provide significant exposure and development for team members.
