Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Associate Project Support who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Panama City, Panama.

Accountabilities

Translator responsibilities include reading and thoroughly understanding the context of given material, using specialized dictionaries and translation tools and proofreading finished pieces of work. To be successful in this role, you should have a keen eye for detail and be fluent in at least two languages in addition to your native language.

  To demonstrate a strong understanding of interface processes between civil works and railway sub-systems within transportation/mass transit;
• To demonstrate a proven record of successful project completion
• To possess strong organizational and prioritization skills;
• To demonstrate critical attention to detail and deadlines, and are self-motivated;
• To possess the ability to adapt well to change in direction and priorities in a project and deadline-oriented environment
• To have the ability to stay organized and maintain project records
• To have written and verbal English communication skills.
• Converting text and audio recordings in one language to one or more others
• Ensuring translated texts conveys original meaning and tone
• Prepare subtitles for videos and online presentations
• Cross-reference specialized dictionaries and translation tools to check quality of translation
• Proofread translated texts for grammar, spelling and punctuation accuracy
• Follow up with internal team members and clients to ensure translation meets their needs
• Edit content with an eye toward maintaining its original format (e.g. font and structure)
• Network with field experts to stay current on new translation tools and practices
• Read and analyze material and researching industry-specific terminology

Required Experience:
Holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English, translation or related.
 

Required Skills/Knowledge

Fluency in at least two languages in addition to your native language

Excellent proofreading skills with the ability to identify grammar, spelling and punctuation errors

Time-management skills

Education/Qualifications

Degree in Translation, Interpreting or similar field
