Job Objective
The Health & Safety & Sustainability Associate will provide operational, data, and administrative support to ERM’s Health & Safety and Sustainability & Foundation functional teams, with additional support to Partners, Managers, and staff as needed. The role focuses on maintaining accurate systems, managing and validating safety and sustainability‑related data, supporting training and risk management processes, and ensuring information is current, reliable, and fit for decision‑making, reporting, and escalation.
Ideal candidates will be highly analytical, enjoy working with data, and be comfortable in a systems‑driven, administrative role. While an understanding of Health & Safety and Sustainability principles is beneficial, success in this role depends on strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, comfort working with data and reporting tools and producign written outputs in our business language of English, clear communication skills and a proactive approach to problem‑solving in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Stakeholder Support & Communication: Provide responsive administrative and analytical support for Health & Safety and Sustainability–related inquiries, including system navigation, data interpretation, and process clarification. Triage non‑routine or complex queries to the appropriate stakeholders, ensuring accurate information flow, professional communication, and timely resolution.
- Data‑Driven Continuous Improvement: Apply ERM’s internal policies, procedures, and programs to support consistent execution across systems and documentation. Identify data quality issues, process inefficiencies, or documentation gaps and support improvements through structured analysis and follow‑up.
- Process & Documentation Management (Risk Support): Support the review, maintenance, and organization of ERM procedures, processes, and supporting documentation, ensuring accuracy, version control, and alignment across systems.
- Monitoring, Reporting & Compliance Tracking: Track performance data using ERM systems and reports. Prepare accurate, up‑to‑date datasets for escalation, leadership communication, and reporting purposes, supporting follow‑up activities through clear data visibility and analytics.
- Project & Ad Hoc Analytical Support: Provide administrative, data, and coordination support for ad hoc initiatives as required, including data cleanup, reporting preparation, documentation support, and system updates.
Influence And Decision-Making Authority
Reporting into a Group Sustainability & Risk Manager, this role will provide support to the H&S and Sustainability teams.
Job Requirements & Capabilities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Sustainability or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of experience in an analytical, data‑driven administrative role, compliance support function, or HSE environment or broader sustainability role, preferably within a corporate or consulting setting
Job specific capabilities/skills & Experience:
· Demonstrated ability to maintain, validate, reconcile, and analyze data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and usability for reporting, escalation, and decision‑making.
· Comfort working with structured systems, repeatable processes, and detailed administrative workflows that require consistency and follow‑through.
· Foundational understanding of compliance‑driven programs and performance metrics; prior Health & Safety and/or sustainability experience is beneficial but not required.
· Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to translate data into clear, actionable information for stakeholders and present in ERM’s business language, English.
· High level of attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured, deadline‑driven environment.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills including formulas, pivot tables, data validation, and data manipulation; comfort working within standardized templates and reporting frameworks.
· Experience extracting, filtering, and exporting data from Power BI or similar reporting tools preferred.
· Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive mindset toward identifying data or process gaps and supporting continuous improvement.
· Knowledge of Safety Management System (SMS) and sustainability concepts (desirable)
· Knowledge of data governance and best practices for data security and privacy (desirable).
· Integrity & Confidentiality: Handles sensitive safety data with discretion and adheres to data privacy standards (desirable)
