General Purpose of Job:

This position provides administrative and technical support to the Director of Member Services and Outreach for the purpose of maximizing member satisfaction and member retention.

General Duties:

Maintains utmost level of confidentiality at all times.

Adheres to Health System and Health Plan policies and procedures. Demonstrates business practices and personal actions that are ethical and adhere to corporate compliance and integrity guidelines.

Tracks and gathers data and other necessary information for preparing various reports in support of member related functions.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Member Services Specialist Duties

As directed performs administrative duties in support of Member Services to include, but not limited to:

Member eligibility and enrollment issues to include escalation of issues to HHSC.

Assists with the Value Added Service (VAS) Program and other incentives as required which includes all backing, contracting etc.

Assists with Member inquiries pertaining to all Value Added Service inquiries.

Assists with the ordering of Member State materials (TJ-ISteps and Texas Women’s Health Program) Assists with the assigning of unique identifiers to each piece of member material/communication and manages the unique identifier database.

Assists with ensuring the department files that contain background documentation and appropriate approvals of all member and marketing materials are up to date (paper and electronic).

Assists with ensuring that all member material is culturally appropriate, written in plain language, is at the 6.0 reading level and is translated, (newsletters, handbooks, general educational materials and targeted outreach material.

Assists with the content of member materials on the member website.

Assists with member materials inventory to ensure that adequate inventory is on hand for member mailings.

Conducts HHSC marketing Paining when required.

Composes and types correspondence, reports and presentations when appropriate.

Assists with member notification letters and mailings

Education and/or Experience:

Two-year degree or Associate’s degree; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

A high level of demonstrated experience computer skills is required to include, but not limited to; Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point) and other database skills etc.
