Your Team's Impact
We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our document processing team(Carbon) in India, which is responsible parsing, extraction and enrichment of financial documents used at FactSet at scale, and expose wrappers, API's and AI empowered solutions for data collection teams and clients.
The team currently handles millions of documents of different types, and serves as one of the foundations teams for data collection at FactSet.
The team: 5 software engineers based out of Hyderabad and Paris
Technical stack: Python, AWS, AI-assisted coding experience
What You'll Do
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:
FactSet is seeking for a software engineer with proficiency in Python to work on Carbon products dealing with high scalability, performance, resilience, and cost-effective solutions.
Ownership on end-end product development & deployment deliverables.
Making strong technical contributions to projects with a focus on new enhancements, stability, and performance.
Strategically explore open-source opportunities to improve our workflows.
Collaborate with Content stakeholders to understand and prioritize their requirements.
Ensure adherence to Agile Methodology by working with Coaches, Scrum master’s and Product Owners
Performance Improvements with the help of metrics provided by automatic monitoring all engineering artifacts
Supporting On Call during India business hours on a rotation basis, as well as out of hours in the event of escalations for product areas you lead
Actively participating in code reviews, technical discussions and stakeholders’ meetings
Stay up to date with emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering and suggest process improvements to enhance system performance and reliability.
Being self-driven, working closely with the team lead, and taking responsibility for independent project execution
Work allocation:
Responsible for planning and performing all assigned jobs in an efficient manner without guidance
Successfully completes multi-step projects with less-well-defined problem definitions
Leads distinct engineering projects independently
Contributes in a technical design capacity within their project area
Acts as a resource to others; collaborates effectively with other engineers and cross-functional teammates
Communicates effectively with project stakeholders
What We're Looking For
Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
5+ years of hands-on experience in software development with a focus on data pipelines and web services
Strong knowledge of Python and working experience of AWS
Experience in AI-assisted coding
Desired Skills:
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Solid track record of designing and building robust software solutions
Strong technical, analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
Familiarity with RESTful API design and development
Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
Ability to articulate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
The ability to tune database queries and workloads for improving performance and scale will be highly desired
Ability to onboard and apply internal systems and processes for developing and deploying robust software solutions
