Job Description
The Manager, Financial Reporting, serves as a key representative of the Controller’s organization and collaborates daily with leaders, managers, and colleagues across our markets and other functional teams to facilitate the successful achievement of organizational goals.
Job Responsibilities include:
- Assist in the preparation of the consolidated financial statements and required disclosures in accordance with group accounting policies and U.S. GAAP
- Lead the application of U.S. GAAP standards in the group’s financial reporting, including performing technical accounting research, preparing accounting memos and providing guidance and training to local teams
- Maintain current knowledge of all relevant developments and issues regarding U.S. GAAP and public company reporting and updating/implementing accounting policies/procedures. This includes preparing quarterly memos to evaluate new ASUs and possible implementation of these.
- Responsible for the accounting and reporting of short-term and long-term bonus plans
- Responsible for the accounting and reporting, including overseeing the work of 3rd parties, in the following areas:
- Preparation of the consolidated statement of cashflows
- Business combinations and equity investments
- Impairment reviews of intangible assets, goodwill and equity investments
- Preparation of the US GAAP Quarterly Financial Disclosure Checklist
- Ensure SOX compliance, including maintaining internal control documentation, implementing new controls as necessary and working with the Company’s internal SOX compliance team
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports to senior management, Board of Directors and the Audit Committee
- Management of the disclosure committee process
- Management of the external audit and quarterly reviews
- Ensure the completion and performance of special projects as requested
Minimum Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and CPA, CA or ACCA qualification required
- 5+ years of Big-4 public accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting, and experience preparing detailed accounting memorandums
- Direct experience with Sarbanes-Oxley internal control reporting requirements
- Direct experience in U.S. GAAP accounting for purchase accounting (e.g. business combinations) and impairment testing in relation to intangible assets (e.g. brands and goodwill)
- Direct experience in consolidation accounting of subsidiaries across multiple foreign currency jurisdictions
- Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) experience strongly preferred
- Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and within a team environment to achieve results
- Strong communication skills
- Highly proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Proven analytical and presentation skills
- Direct experience with Workiva software for financing reporting, SAP and IBM Cognos systems (preferred but not required)
