Job Description

Objective / Purpose The primary purpose of this role is to lead the safe, efficient, and on‑time production of quality material that meets customer requirements. This position requires strong leadership skills, the ability to motivate and mentor teams, and the capability to model Code of Conduct behaviors across all production areas.    Areas of Responsibility / Tasks Areas: Recycling, Wash Lines, Size Reduction, & Blending Performance must reflect the appropriate level of expertise and achievement of desired results in the following areas.   Safety: Mentor and Coach team on safety practices. Responsible for safety huddles at the beginning of the shift. Supervise team follows Ravago Life Safety Rules. Supervise the use of PPE and flowing the PPE Matrix. Engage Team on the safe operation of fork lifts. Directs housekeeping practices during the shift. Supervise the prevention of pellet spills and any other environmental impact at the site. Ensure the team is training according the plan. Reports on a timely manner any safety and environmental incident.   Quality:   Lead team to produce quality product, on-time in accordance with production schedule. Assist with/lead root cause investigations for Internal and Customer Corrective and Preventive actions. Supervise the formula and testing integrity during the shift. Reports and request proper authorization for any material change. Supervise with lab to ensure timely testing of blend properties and offline testing.   Productivity: Perform all essential Operator functions as needed. Supervise timely preparation of recycled and scrap material for the Erema. Prepare dry blends for Erema consumption. Oversee production on size reduction per schedule. Achieve minimum production throughput of 2,500,000 lbs per month per Erema line. Ensure all production activities are completed accurately, safely, and on time. Oversee and participate in training of production employees and new hires. Apply RMA 7S for Success standards to all work areas. Uphold Ravago Code of Conduct standards. Complete all production records, including: Closing orders Control plans Order preparation Reporting Execute changeovers correctly the first time and continuously improve response time. Make fact based decisions to support production goals. Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Manager.   Leadership: Hold team members accountable for all company policies, procedures, safety rules, and performance expectations. Address performance issues promptly, including having direct, honest, and sometimes difficult conversations to correct behavior or improve results. Review and approve weekly timesheets accurately and on time, ensuring proper attendance, scheduling, and reporting. Conduct yearly performance reviews for all direct reports, including documentation, goal‑setting, and development planning. Set clear expectations for safety, quality, productivity, and conduct at the start of each shift. Model professionalism and consistency, demonstrating the behaviors expected from the team. Provide coaching, mentoring, and real‑time feedback to build skill, confidence, and ownership within the team. Maintain a strong presence on the production floor, ensuring visibility, engagement, and support for operators. Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, especially in a demanding and fast‑paced environment. Manage conflict effectively, ensuring respectful communication and resolving issues before they escalate. Recognize and reinforce positive performance, while also documenting and escalating repeated non‑compliance when necessary. Lead through change, maintaining stability and focus even when the facility is under pressure or experiencing operational challenges. Drive adherence to all standards and Code of Conduct expectations, modeling the behaviors expected from the team   M   Minimum Qualifications / Education / Certifications High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum of three (3) years of leadership/supervisory experience in manufacturing. Plastics manufacturing experience preferred. Computer data entry skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Excellent interpersonal, people‑management, and problem‑solving skills. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams. Detail‑oriented with strong prioritization and multi‑tasking abilities. Ability to perform root‑cause analysis and apply problem‑solving techniques. Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently. Ability to operate a fork truck. Must be willing to work rotating shifts, including every other weekend. Competencies; Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA) Demonstrated ability to achieve results in assigned areas of responsibility. Comfortable working in shared spaces with constant noise. Able to work in a non‑climate‑controlled environment. Flexible schedule; may require more than 40 hours per week based on business needs. All injuries, regardless of severity, must be reported immediately to Supervisor/HR.   Work Environment / Conditions The work environment described below reflects the conditions typically experienced in a manufacturing and production setting: Work is performed in non‑climate‑controlled industrial areas, which may involve high temperatures, humidity, and exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Environment includes constant noise, moving machinery, forklifts, and production equipment. Work areas may contain dust, odors, plastic particulates, and other airborne materials associated with recycling and plastics processing. Must be able to work safely around rotating equipment, conveyors, grinders, wash lines, and blending systems. Work will require standing, walking, climbing, bending, and lifting throughout the shift. Schedules may vary weekly based on business needs and may exceed 40 hours per week. Must be willing to work rotating shifts, including every other weekend.   Physical Requirements / Demands The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an incumbent to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. *Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions & physical demands of this role. Must be able to regularly lift 55 lbs. Repeatedly reach with hands and arms. Climb straight incline ladders. Have use of fingers and hands for packaging and writing. Must have color vision.
