Parent Educator

Parent Educator 
Location: Early Childhood
10-month schedule, hours vary (part-time, some night and weekend hours required)
Status: Non-Exempt
Starting Pay: $32.25/hour

Essential Job Functions:

Plan, implement, and document personal home visits with families with children birth to five; conduct and interpret screenings and share results with parents; develop appropriate developmental activity sessions with parents and children; and suggest referral resources to families as needed.

Qualifications:

• Requires Bachelor's Degree
• Certification in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education or Social Work
• Early Childhood experience is required
• Parents as Teachers National Center Foundational Training preferred
• Working knowledge of Google Apps
• Willingness to learn new computer applications necessary for the job
• Ability to speak Spanish fluently a plus
• Excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively to students, parents, school personnel and others
• Knowledgeable about child development birth to age 5
• Physical mobility to make home visits to children from birth to 5 years of age
• Dependable
