ISP Malaysia – Asia Pacific Schools
We are looking for an IT Executive to join Asia Pacific Schools in Subang.
Purpose of Role
This position is responsible for providing technical support, implementing IT policies and best practices, conducting regular maintenance, and assisting in the deployment of IT projects in coordination with the IT Manager to meet end-user requirements and future demands. The role also involves maintaining up-to-date documentation of IT assets and procedures and assisting in the rollout of new technologies and IT solutions.

Areas of Responsibility:
- Provide effective support to staff and students by resolving IT-related issues and ensuring timely assistance during school events.
- Monitor, configure, and maintain the system and network infrastructure, routing/switching, firewall, load balancer equipment, and computer labs (including servers).
- Ensure the security of data, network access, and backup systems.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for all assets, including computers, printers, laptops, projectors, smartboards, smart panels, computer systems, telephony systems (3CX), CCTV, and networks.
- Perform regular backups and ensure adherence to daily, monthly, and yearly schedules per the backup policy, ensuring availability for restoration.
- Perform preventive maintenance, security patch updates, and antivirus updates for Windows OS and Chrome OS systems.
- Install, upgrade, and configure IT equipment, PCs, standalone printers, networks, and related services.
- Manage and monitor IT inventory, including software licenses, desktops, laptops, and printers.
- Recommend hardware, software, and IT solutions.
- Manage and monitor installed network appliances, systems, and related infrastructure (cloud and on-premises).
- Install, configure, test, and maintain network-related operating systems, applications, software, and management tools.
- Ensure optimal network connectivity and infrastructure availability.
- Provide expertise in overall network systems infrastructure and IT technologies.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve hardware, software, network, and system issues.
- Identify IT security vulnerabilities within the organization's network.
- Develop and implement plans to secure the organization's IT infrastructure and networking.
- Stay updated on IT security standards and emerging threats.
- Create system guidelines and manuals for the organization.
- Assist in IT audits and certification processes, ensuring compliance with ISO standards.
- Document procedures and maintain updated records of IT assets and processes.
- Monitor network usage and health to ensure compliance with security policies and best practices.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in ICT or a related discipline.
- At least 3–5 years of relevant work experience in systems administration, helpdesk support, or network/technical support.
- Proficient in BYOD policies and IT Service Management.
- Practical experience with Office 365 and Google Workspace administration policies.
- Expertise in hardware diagnostics and repair for PC/Chromebooks/Windows and servers.
- Knowledge of network infrastructure, including routing protocols, subnetting, IP address management, and VLANs.
- Understanding of cybersecurity measures and the use of endpoint protection software.
- Decision-making and problem-solving skills—ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
- Familiarity with 3-2-1 Backup solutions.
- Experience in IT asset management, including tracking and managing IT resources.
- Hands-on experience with remote support tools like TeamViewer, AnyDesk, or MS QuickAssist.
- Experience with Fortigate Firewall.
- Ability to execute instructions from superiors effectively.
- Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia (fluent).
- Strong skills in understanding, verifying, and deploying tasks for IT projects, ensuring adherence to the defined scope of work.
