Summary:

Position Specific Information (if Applicable):
Duties and Responsibilities:
● Conducts an organized and professional classroom.
● Develops and implements curriculum according to the curriculum guidelines of PPA and the state of Colorado.
● Implements curriculum within the timeframe given by PPA and the state of Colorado.
● Further develops curriculum and maintains ongoing curriculum evaluation and development to meet the needs of students.
● Demonstrates exceptional instructional delivery.
● Collaborates with other faculty in delivery of appropriate instructional approaches, working to serve the various learning styles and needs of all students.
● Models and fosters independent thinking skills, creative problem solving and abstract reasoning.
● Shows empathy and understanding of students.
● Develops, with parents and students, a cooperative partnership based on mutual respect and objectivity.
● Assesses student performance frequently and objectively.
● Facilitates resolution of problems that might arise with students and parents.
● Promotes accountability for students
● Communicates consistently and effectively with students and parents.
● Serves in an advisory role in a manner consistent with PPA policies and procedures.
● Continues intellectual and professional development.
● Follows policies established by the PPA Board of Directors and administration.
● Participates in and contributes to programs and activities that enhance PPA outside of instructional hours, such as extracurricular activities, leadership positions, and/or enrollment process.

Required Qualifications:
● K-6 teaching license or 7-12 teaching license (depending on grade level assignment) or
● Must meet the requirements of a Highly Qualified teacher as mandated by the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB).
● Expert-level written and oral communication skills.
● Entrepreneurial outlook and charter school commitment.
● Ability to work collaboratively.
● Strong self-starter; able to work with limited direction.
Preferred Qualifications:
● Previous successful teaching experience.
● Experience in and knowledge of charter schools.
● Passion for the arts in education.
● Experience with using technology in the classroom.
