The Logistics Management Specialist is a key contributor responsible for establishing and leading the logistics function alongside the Logistics Manager. This role requires transformative direction, industry knowledge, and the ability to collaborate across departments to achieve business objectives within the organization. You'll be responsible for the optimization of processes and resources, leading inventory research, parts movement, and shipping/receiving activities throughout the end-to-end lifecycle of programs within the organization.


Responsibilities

  • Control the efficient flow of goods, services, and information between point of origin through customer placement to meet customer requirements.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and audit readiness across logistics and property functions
  • Collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders—such as finance, procurement, contracting, and operational teams—to promote accuracy in asset accountability, maintain data integrity within property systems, and support continuous process improvement
  • Support property audits, DCMA reviews, and internal compliance inspections
  • Support planning, coordination, and execution of logistics activities related to acquisition, supply support, distribution, maintenance, and transportation
  • Identify operational risks to develop contingency and mitigation plans
  • Lead daily logistics operations to ensure on-time, on-budget, and mission-ready execution
  • Routine reporting to Executive Management for current operations and program schedule impacts
  • Analyze current operating problems and future operating requirements to identify training needs and develop training programs
  • Prepare strategic objectives into operational plans and execution timelines
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree (bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years of logistics operations, supply chain workflows, lifecycle logistics, warehousing, and material management practices
  • Strong technology skills including ERP systems and Microsoft applications (Costpoint experience is a plus)
  • Strong planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of ITAR regulations and international shipping including making entries in the ACE portal
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally, clearly, and effectively to business audiences in both spoken and written formats

Desired Qualifications

  • Active DoD issued clearance or the ability to obtain one

The pay range above represents annual base salary only. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as your job level, geographic location, date of hire, experience, job-related knowledge and skills, and education in conjunction with market and business considerations.

 

Pay may range from $86,000 to $104,000 annually.

 

Base salary is one component of your total rewards package. You may be eligible for long-term incentives, potential discretionary bonuses, and the ability to purchase company stock at a discounted rate through the Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP). OSI also offers comprehensive benefits including various options for health plans, access to 401(k) retirement plan, health savings account, disability insurance, life insurance, AD&D insurance, leave of absence programs and an array of voluntary benefits. In addition, paid time off is offered to be used for vacation, holidays, bereavement, and jury duty. Full-Time salaried employees are entitled to flexible time-off.
