Position Overview
The Claims Division is seeking an AVP Claims Account Manager (CAM) to join the National Accounts Casualty (NAC) Team. In this role, the incumbent will actively manage and effectively oversee assigned NAC business accounts for workers’ compensation, auto, and general liability claims written on a guaranteed cost basis, high deductible, and self-insured retention basis handled by third party administrators.
Position Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise and oversight to staff with handling workers’ compensation, auto liability & general Liability claims which also include handling and supervision of outsourced claims.
- Leads directs and has full management accountability for Claims staff with an emphasis on talent management and succession planning in accordance with corporate strategic direction.
- Manage staff performance; implement strategies and plans to address staff development; identify and address training needs on an ongoing basis.
- Collaborates with Underwriting, Risk Management, Actuarial, and other stakeholders to ensure knowledge sharing on market trends, legal changes, portfolio management, and loss developments.
- Responsible for cost containment strategies including allocated and unallocated expenses within the Claims operation.
- Assist with development of Claims annual operational goals, objectives, and budgets.
- Manage and ensure accurate and timely case reserving.
- Communicate effectively with Underwriters, brokers, and reinsurers on relevant claim developments.
- Attend mediations, arbitrations, depositions, trials, as necessary.
- Work with our TPA’s to ensure proper claims handling and service delivery.
- Act as the Service Manager/Arch claims contact for all accounts written by NAC.
- Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.
Required Skills

- Bachelor's degree required
- Demonstrated people management and development skills in a service/account management role.
- Exceptional communication (written and verbal), influencing, negotiating, listening, and interpersonal skills to effectively develop productive working relationships with internal/external peers and other professionals across organizational lines.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational, multitasking, and time management skills
- Ability to take part in active strategic discussions.
- Ability to analyze and utilize data to make direct impact on claims’ outcomes.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ direct supervision of employee performance management
- Minimum of (10-15) years’ experience overseeing and managing multi-line claims with strong emphasis on auto liability, general liability, products, and professional liability as well as exposure to workers’ compensation for high deductible and self-insured accounts.
- Proper Adjuster Licenses in all applicable states
- Ability to handle high severity claims.
- Knowledge & expertise with multiple jurisdictions
- Hands-on experience and strong aptitude with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Willing and able to travel 25%.

For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.
Boston/Dallas/Atlanta: $95,800 - $148,700/year
Chicago: $111,300 - $172,700/year
LA/NYC/Seattle/Jersey City: $123,600 - $191,900/year
Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
