Job Description
Job Title: Activities Assistant (Full-Time)
Location: Diablo Valley Post Acute
Starting Pay: $18.50 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time (including weekends and holidays as needed)
Job Summary:
Diablo Valley Post Acute is seeking a compassionate and energetic Activities Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support the Activities Director in delivering engaging programs that enhance the quality of life for our residents. You’ll help create a positive, interactive environment that promotes socialization, independence, and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in planning, organizing, and leading daily activity programs
Encourage resident participation in group and one-on-one activities
Set up and clean up for activities and events
Support special events, holiday celebrations, and community outings
Transport residents to and from activities as needed
Maintain activity supplies and ensure materials are organized
Document resident participation per facility and regulatory guidelines
Build strong, supportive relationships with residents, families, and staff
Qualifications:
Previous experience in activities, recreation, or a healthcare setting preferred
Friendly, patient, and engaging demeanor
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Organized with attention to detail
High school diploma or equivalent required
