Starting with the role:
We are looking to hire an Oil Trader to join our team.
During your day you will:
- Coordinate transactions to ensure that Refinery Supply is covered as per the needs of the RSC and that all refinery products are sold at the best possible market price at any given moment
- Perform trading transactions based on the company’s MoA and refinery trading model, aiming at trading over and above the refinery production and increasing the trading desk’s profitability
- Design and perform real-time trading reporting and deal capturing, and monitor the company’s price exposure using the company’s MI systems (Amphora ETRM system)
- Oversee the preparation of all necessary documents for tenders, according to specific guidance, and handle contract negotiations with other traders or oil companies (based on the company’s Manual of Authority - MoA); submit them for approval, highlighting main clauses and details that need to be reviewed
- Coordinate with the Risk Analyst to generate all available hedging options relevant to the refinery trading model and submit them to the Book Leader for selection
- Perform desk tasks based on given company targets and the business plan (desk’s budgeted CAPEX, OPEX, and relevant KPIs)
- Manage customer complaints and contract issues with counterparties within a certain level of authority
What you need to stand out:
- Bachelor’s Degree in degree preferably in Finance, Engineering or other numerate discipline
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics (preferably – non compulsory)
- At least 3 years’ professional trading experience, preferably for a large manufacturing, energy or oil company
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent command of the English language, written and verbal
- Familiarity with Amphora ETRM (not compulsory - preferably)
- General Understanding of Derivatives and Hedging
