What You’ll Do:
We’re looking for a Payroll Administrator to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll manage payroll processing, prevailing wage compliance, supports audits and reporting, and serves as a trusted resource for employees and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings strong payroll and benefits knowledge, attention to detail, experience working in a construction payroll environment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Preferred work locations: Little Falls, MN; Orlando, FL; and Knoxville, TN.
What You’ll Do:
- Process and administer accurate weekly payroll for employees across multiple business units
- Validate timekeeping, pay rates, deductions, job classifications, and payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Manage prevailing wage and Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) wage calculations, reporting, and compliance requirements
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and prevailing wage regulations
- Prepare payroll, benefits, and compliance reports and support internal and external audits
- Reconcile payroll and benefit deductions, resolve discrepancies, and respond to employee payroll inquiries
- Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data within the HRIS, partnering with HR on employee lifecycle transactions
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Operations to resolve payroll issues and support cross-functional initiatives
- Contribute to HRIS enhancements, process improvements, workflow documentation, and payroll compliance initiatives
- Stay current on payroll regulations and employment laws while identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes and efficiency
The Experience We’re Looking For:
- 1–5 years of payroll and/or benefits administration experience with multi-state payroll and benefits audits
- Strong understanding of payroll processes and employment law compliance
- Proficient working with HRIS or payroll systems (i.e., Paycor, ADP, UKG, LPC Tracker, Points North, Fringe 98)
- Knowledge of prevailing wage and Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) requirements and reporting
- Familiarity with accounting software platforms and advanced Excel functions
- High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion
Additional Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience
- Must successfully complete a background check and pre-employment/random drug tests
- Must be proficient in English for speaking, reading, writing, and documentation
