We are now seeking an Industrial & Employee Relations Senior Manager to lead and strengthen our Employee & Industrial Relations strategy in Indonesia. In this pivotal leadership role, you will drive compliance, manage complex employee and industrial relations matters, build trusted partnerships with key stakeholders, and help create a stable, engaged, and high-performing workforce.

Your Impact

Lead Employee & Industrial Relations Strategy

  • Act as the primary advisor to business leaders on employee and industrial relations matters.
  • Develop, implement, and govern ER frameworks, policies, and best practices.
  • Align employee and industrial relations strategies with business objectives and operational priorities.

Manage Employee & Industrial Relations

  • Lead the resolution of complex grievances, disciplinary matters, and workplace disputes.
  • Drive effective negotiation, mediation, and conflict resolution across the organization.
  • Represent the company in industrial disputes, labor tribunals, and other employment-related proceedings.

Drive Union & External Stakeholder Engagement

  • Lead collective bargaining agreement (CBA) negotiations and maintain constructive union relationships.
  • Build and strengthen partnerships with labor unions, government agencies, and external stakeholders.
  • Represent the organization with relevant authorities, including the Ministry of Manpower.

Ensure Compliance & Mitigate Risk

  • Interpret and ensure compliance with Indonesian employment legislation and labor regulations.
  • Proactively identify employee and industrial relations risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Advise business leaders on legislative changes and their potential operational impact.

Partner with Business Leaders

  • Act as a trusted HR Business Partner, supporting workforce planning and business strategy.
  • Provide expert guidance during organizational change, transformation, and business growth initiatives.
  • Coach leaders on employee relations practices, negotiation strategies, and effective people management.

Foster a Positive Employee Relations Culture

  • Promote a culture of trust, transparency, collaboration, and employee engagement.
  • Facilitate effective communication and constructive dialogue between employees and management.
  • Drive initiatives that strengthen workforce alignment and organizational effectiveness.

Build Capability & Governance

  • Establish and maintain consistent employee and industrial relations governance across multiple sites.
  • Analyze employee relations trends and workforce data to support informed business decisions.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Employee & Industrial Relations and HR Business Partner team.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for a strategic and experienced Employee & Industrial Relations leader with a strong commercial mindset, deep expertise in Indonesian labor law, and a proven ability to build trusted relationships across the business.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Law or a related discipline (HR, Industrial Relations, or Business qualifications are an advantage).
  • Certified Advocate with a valid practicing license is preferred.
  • Professional HR or Industrial Relations certifications (e.g., IRCP, CHRM, or equivalent) are advantageous.
  • Minimum of 10 years' progressive experience in Employee & Industrial Relations and HR Business Partnering.
  • Demonstrated experience working in unionized environments and leading Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) negotiations.
  • Proven track record managing complex employee relations matters, industrial disputes, litigation, and disciplinary cases.
  • Experience supporting large operational workforces within logistics, supply chain, manufacturing, or similarly complex environments.
  • Strong experience engaging with government authorities, labor unions, and external stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of Indonesian labor legislation and industrial relations practices.
  • Excellent negotiation, mediation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
  • High level of cultural awareness with the ability to build relationships across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Fluent in both English and Bahasa Indonesia.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR information systems.
  • Formal training in industrial relations, negotiation, conflict management, or dispute resolution is an advantage.
