Policy and Planning Supervisor

This position serves the Office of Epidemiology by supporting the development and implementation of state-level public health policy that relates to programs within the office. The Policy Manager will lead efforts to support the regulatory process and the legislative process with a focus on policy that relates to communicable disease surveillance, prevention and control. Duties include development of legislative proposals, budget proposals, analysis of proposed and enacted bills, and support to the Office leadership team and agency during the regulatory process. Develops decision memos, presentations, and communications materials to support policy decisions. Supports internal policy and procedure development to optimize operations. Drafts and/or reviews responses to constituent inquiries and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. Supervises the communications coordinator. Conducts outreach to stakeholders to solicit input. Serves as a senior advisor to the Office Director and Office leadership team.
